香港文匯報訊(記者 黃德正)鄭東本是科大工商管理二年級生,在學期間參加了「網域使命青年使者計劃」,教導弱勢社群使用電腦,活動為他提供了參加國際性數碼研討會的機會,提升了他對互聯網國際政策的認識。這一切令學業失去方向的他看清了自己對資訊科技行業的興趣,於是他毅然輟學,更憑上述的經驗而成功加盟搜尋器巨擘Google,負責開發語音系統,月入2萬。經過1年磨練和同事鼓勵,鄭東竟重覓學習的價值,並決定來年重返科大完成學業,為將來事業作準備;這條「非主流」之升學路,更令以往取笑他「不要傻了」的同學大表羨慕。 「落區」教弱勢社群用電腦 「網域使命青年使者計劃」主辦單位DotAsia的慈善項目開發經理鄭曉玲表示,現時不少弱勢社群對數碼科技認識很少,易與社會脫節,形成「數碼鴻溝」,因此他們去年首辦計劃,讓大專生「落區」指導弱勢社群使用電腦,青年使者更有機會參加國際性數碼研討會,拓闊視野。鄭東就是其中一個青年使者,期間他有機會到北京出席國際性研討會,對資訊科技業界加深認識,意外地為日後進入Google打好了基礎。 鄭東表示,一直以來對生意人的印象較負面,本身對科大工管課程興趣不大,故學習頓失方向,後更以「實習工作」為由向學校申請輟學1年,當時父母對他的決定大表反對。之後他應徵Google、投資銀行和顧問公司等工作,均成功獲得取錄,「輟學時仍未正式獲聘書,只想破釜沉舟,但我有信心能獲Google取錄。」 曾參與10國家語音發展項目 他最後放棄了薪金較高的投資銀行工作,選擇進入Google任職「語音服務管理員」,負責收集各國語言資料,開發語音程式,並曾參與10個國家的語音程式發展項目,更有機會到外國公幹。他指自小受母親鼓勵學習編寫電腦程式,加上去年曾隨「網域使命青年使者計劃」參加國際數碼會議,了解不同數碼科技的知識和國際政策,令他能更易融入Google。 鄭東在過去大半年的工作中,漸漸明白讀書的意義在於「實踐」,亦扭轉他對商場的負面印象,重新肯定讀書的價值,加上身邊的同事大都擁有碩士、博士學位,更令他意識到讀書的重要性,故決定明年2月重回校園完成課程,「讀書的態度在乎即學即用,他們教曉我讀書是為將來的事業作準備,而且能讓自己知道將來想做什麼。」他坦言,科大的讀書氣氛濃厚,同學起初得知他輟學都取笑他「不要傻了」,但現在不少同學都十分羨慕他的際遇。 科大環球商業管理及營運管理三年級生何凱瑩亦是青年使者,曾透過計劃到倫敦和立陶苑參與國際性研討會,與各地青年交流對資訊科技發展的看法,更曾於青年互聯網管治論壇(YOUTH IGF)上發言。她表示計劃能讓她擴闊眼界,接觸更生活化的網絡議題。  Source: www.wenweipo.com... more >>

 對於「機不離手」的人,電腦確能帶來方便;但對於很少機會接觸電腦的弱勢社群,科技卻將他們與社會隔開,形成了所謂的「數碼鴻溝」。出身自公屋戶的科大工商管理系二年級學生鄭東慨歎,身邊很多鄰居連電腦也不懂得用,認為「數碼鴻溝」問題實在不容忽視。早前他更參加計畫,協助青年認識網絡世界。 記者張靄敏  鄭東坦言身邊不少人都面對「數碼鴻溝」的問題,就如他的父親,連開電腦的方法也不懂,令他意識到問題的嚴重性,「去年我從學校得知有『网域使命青年計畫』,我覺得計畫很有意義,所以決定參加。」鄭東表示計畫能提高弱勢社群對電腦的認知,也讓他有機會參與不同的國際會議,並增加對網絡世界運作的認識。 工作一年認清方向 鄭東去年有機會到谷歌工作,擔任語音服務項目管理員。他表示,「由於我對網絡有一定的認識,所以很容易便能通過面試。」鄭東坦言,到谷歌工作助他認清方向,明白讀書的目的,「停學一年原因覺得讀書無意義,但經過這一年的工作,我明白讀書其實是為將來事業做好準備,所以我今年將會重返科大,繼續學業。」 另一名「青年网域使者」,科大環球商業管理及營運管理三年級學生何凱瑩表示,參加計畫前並不認識「數碼鴻溝」,也不覺得這是一個社會問題,但計畫令她明白到科技對弱勢社群的影響,「從小接觸電腦與從未接觸電腦的兒童分別原來很大,有的兒童更是無知到認為網絡是自己出現,並沒有任何人發明。」 加倍留意網上條例 何凱瑩表示,計畫令她更明白網絡的運作及當中的政策,所以現在上網時會加倍留意版權及條例等問題,「我在做功課的時候,也會盡量使用供大眾參考的資料,亦會提醒身邊的同學要尊重版權,並要列明資料的出處。」 由機構DotAsia舉辦的「网域使命青年計畫」為期一年,今年將招聘二十多名大專及中學生擔任「青年网域使者」,為兒童、青年、長者及中年婦女四個範疇提供家訪、嘉年華等活動,以提升他們對「數碼鴻溝」的關注。   Source: www.singtao.com.hk  ... more >>
