The latest figures from Forbes magazine are in concerning the number of billionaires around the world and Asia has a lot to be proud about. The number of billionaires in the region have skyrocketed from 130 last year to 234 this year, a rise of about 80 per cent which is a huge amount. This accounts for 23% of all 1011 billionaires on the list, a rise from 16% last year. The total value of these billionaires has also shot up from US$357 billion last year to US$729 billion this year which again is a huge rate. It was much greater than the rate in Europe which was only around 50% and it increased by just a mere 18$ in North America. Out of all the nations in Asia, China and India got the most increase in numbers but there were also huge increases in Japan and Hong Kong, even Pakistan found its first billionaire.What does this tell? Well slowly and slowly Asia is becoming the most important and money making region in the world, we already have 2 billionaires in the top 10 and some more are almost there too. Another thing to take notice of is the age the people on top are very old and the Asians are young and bright and it is only a matter of time before they take over. Circumstances usually dictate the man and the situation here in Asia is looking good.
