OneAsia.Asia, provides an elite
platform for the top players in the Asia-Pacific region. It was an idea that started many years ago but it quickened after success was achieved on PGA tours for Asians and after that, there was been a decent quantity of Asians on the leader board of every championship. Now another landmark for oneasia.asia., they have signed an agreement with ESPN-StarSports to show the golf from OneAsia to everyone around Asia for the next 5 years. Eleven events are confirmed for 2010 in China, Australia, South Korea and Thailand with the $1 million Chengdu Open launching the season at the start of April. ESPN in a press release said they were very excited with this deal to show the best regional tournaments here.
A sport which has been dominated over the years by the Europeans and Americans, is not becoming more prominent in Asia. The days where everyone gets excited about the Ryder Cup could be gone and there could be another cup where Asians would comepete with the rest of the world. In addition it also also another indication at how collected Asis is becoming.
