The CIK-FIA World Karting Championship, is going to be held in Macao from the 9th to 11th of October this year and it is the first time it is going to be held in Asia. The tournament which use to be very European focused and still is now comes to Asia. Reason being is it is becoming more famous here and with Formula 1 proving to be so successful in Singapore and also a new track going to be built in Korea, it is about time for Kart racing to be here soon.It will give a chance for Asians who could not travel to Europe before a chance to shine too.Chong Coc Veng, president of Automobile General Association Macau-China said, ""The CIK-FIA recognises the importance of Asia-Pacific as an emerging force in motorsport, and we are honoured they regard Macau as a regional hub for international sporting events,"He also goes on to say that many of the biggest racers in the world today, started off in the Kart racing field and even Massa who suffered a sickening injury months ago, will be practising Karting before going back to Formula,
Yet another piece of proof that anything is possible here in Asia. Even a small place like Macao being able to host such a grand event speaks volume about Asians, the desire and dtermination to succeed has never been in question and now we are seeing everyone around the world recognizing it.
