Go East! Go Asia!

The Future is definitely looking very Asian indeed. In a recent article on the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong's mainstream English newspaper, there was an article about how many expats and people who went west before and now returning home east and doing business here. Many of them returning are seeing brighter job prospects in Asia and expect it to outperform the west in years to come.

According to American investor Jim Rogers, who co-founded the Quantum Fund with George Soros. He thinks this century will be China's and now lives in Singapore, where his young children are learning Mandarin. "If you're in London, you're in the wrong place at the wrong time ... You've got to move east," he says. Most of the experts out there seem to think this will bridge the gap between east and west in terms of techonlogical development and marketing skills.

"These returnees will serve as a bridge between Asia and the rest of the economies," says Irvin Seah, an economist at Singapore's DBS, Southeast Asia's largest bank. With the exposure they have had in western economies and their local knowledge, they will be able to fill the human capital gap in Asia and significantly contribute to Asia's growth."

Future seems to be most of the people who started off taking their skills to the west, will be returning home to Asia and start their own business here. It will be a perfect mixture of their Asian grit and determination and their Western skills of marketing and IT developed which will be very beneficial for the Asian market. Come and be part of this trend too, if you cannot physically be here in Asia, getting into the Asia cyberspace in the next best thing.
