The 2008 Olympic Games left Beijing with magnificent stadiums. However, rather than actually being used for sporting events, they have become incredible tourist attractions.
A majority of the people in China were not actually able to get into the stadiums during the Olympics because ticket prices were rather expensive. Therefore, many are now visiting the stadiums to relive some of the glory. Approximately 20,000 people each day buy the $12 entrance ticket to walk around the empty, otherwise uneventful, Bird's Nest athletics stadium. One thing visitors can do is pay to have their photos taken on a podium holding a torch and wearing a China jacket and gold medal.
